On Thursday, February 18, the Sun enters the constellation of Pisces. Pisces is the 12th and last sign in the Zodiac belt, coinciding with the last month of winter in the Northern hemisphere. A month from now, on the spring equinox, the sign of Aries will start a new cycle of 12 months. [Fun fact: to this day, March 25 marks the beginning of the New Year in Florence. We will talk more about this in next month’s blog on the Sun in Aries celebrating the Spring Equinox.]
So, Pisces is our last zodiacal month of the year that started in March 2020. Quite a year, indeed!
This upcoming month we have a chance to reflect on the last 12 months and draw the spiritual teachings needed at this time. You may ask yourself, What did I learn about myself? How did I meet the various challenges that this year presented me with? Was I able to change and transform? How? Think back to March 2020 and, one after one, travel through the 12 months until you get to HERE and NOW. Acknowledge how much you have grown and matured. Be gentle with the parts of yourself that still need listening and healing. A step at a time. A breath at a time.
Pisces is a mutable water sign whose glyph represents two fishes swimming in the ocean. The ocean is what connects them to each other and ALL that IS (symbolized by the horizontal life-line in the glyph). The passage from winter to spring is a good time for rest, contemplation, and alone time. It is recommended that we integrate what we have matured in order to create new projects.
Neptune, in its domicile in Pisces, is strengthening the beneficial effects of this sign in our individual lives by opening up new possibilities for creative manifestation. Neptune’s sextile to Mars in Taurus (earth fixed sign) strengthens this effect. On February 26, Venus will enter Pisces and will shortly thereafter conjoin the Sun. Venus invites you to relax and find pleasure in the flow of life. The Full Moon in Virgo on the 26/27 of February will shed light on what needs healing within you at this time.
Tips: Slow down and enjoy each moment. With the massive transits and conjunctions happening in Aquarius, your nervous system may be a bit overworked. Take particular care of your digestion, rest, hydration and good sleep.
