Pisces is the twelfth and final sign of the Zodiac, the culmination of the solar year just before the cycle begins anew on the day of the Spring Equinox. The conclusion of this cycle, which will arrive a month from now, asks us to fully integrate the events of the past year. The cycle of events which began around the end of last February/March is coming to its natural close, and this final lunation gives us the tools to integrate the experiences of the past year and step forward, renewed, into the new space of our lives. This is a process that requires both honesty and forgiveness.

What have we attracted or magnetized in our lives this past year? We are our own teachers: this month is a month to sit with our internal teachers and listen. The teacher within is ready to tell us what it is we need to hear to integrate our past experiences into our understanding of self. Pisces is the ocean: in the glyph of Pisces, the line that unites the two fish is the connectedness of the ocean. Fish in water flow in perfect connectedness with one another, fully aware of the analogues relations wrought by the invisible quantum field that unifies us all. This intuitive knowledge of our connected state to others is the flow of Pisces.

While the Sun is in Pisces, the Moon is in Virgo. Virgo is the sign associated with late Summer, early Fall. On a social level of the harvest, Virgo watches over the storage of crops for the coming winter. On a personal level, Virgo watches over the processes of digestion: the body stores energy through the processes of digestion. So, during this lunation, Virgo opens the possibilities of digesting the events of the past year and aids in this process of integration ourselves and our lives to align with the unified experience of collective life.

This process requires forgiveness. To receive the new Spring when the Sun moves into Aries, we must make space to receive the novelty that Aries brings with it. If we are intoxicated by the emotional memories of past events, having neglected to integrate them into our conception of self, we will be unable to fully receive the arrival of the Springtime bounty. For this period, then, the need is to tune into the Moon’s energy to heal the patterns of thought that bear the weight of past events, such that we can process, integrate, and move forward into this new cycle. Forgiveness is the act of renouncing the desire and the power to punish. If we feel like there’s something we need to forgive–if we are holding any power to punish another (or ourselves)–now is the time to give ourselves the space to let this power go. In so doing, we open ourselves up to digesting the lessons we’ve been downloading, we heal from this past cycle, and we prepare to step into the beginning of a new solar year.

As the Moon perfects in opposition to the Sun, Mars in Taurus is also applying a trine to Pluto in Capricorn, endowing us with a warrior-like strength to put the energy and the time into this process of integration. Saturn in Aquarius is also applying a square to Uranus in Taurus. Together, Saturn and Uranus are continuing to support a transformation of our perceptions of both time and space: new technologies that condense distance and warp time are developing more and more rapidly, fundamentally altering the way we engage with the world. The past few lunations have emphasized the importance of receiving intuitions of what’s been changing, of observing our minds, of giving space to the practice of witnessing our own experience of thought. The information we received during the Full Moon in Leo and New Moon in Aquarius is the content that grounds the profoundly important questions Pisces season will come to ask us: What will we store, now, for the upcoming cycle? What will we shed?

The Key Concepts for this lunation are:

Need: To balance surrender (Pisces) and will (Virgo)

What: The moment between the end of one cycle and the beginning of another: REST

How: Integrate your past and present in the NOW
